Defensive Teaching Points:

  • Defense must get up over defensive blue line on clears
  • The closest forward must pressure the puck carrier
  • Defense can not give up ice
  • Defense need to play tight gap
  • No free shots


Finland Offensive Tactics On Clear:

  • 1 forward stays back in offensive zone to draw attention of defense
  • Finland passes to forward just at or over blue line
  • The tactic catches the defense giving up ice or standing still
